Former President Donald Trump now becomes President-Elect Donald Trump after defeating current Vice President Kamala Harris in a broad and decisive victory. A significant return to power that had so many ups and downs and politically motivated obstacles.
To his credit, Trump really changed the electorate and brought in new Republicans to the party, even if some longtime Republicans left. Trump galvanized Republicans who were ignored by their own party and brought in others who were ignored by Democrats.
On the other hand, the Democrats did not offer a real counterargument. Joe Biden and then Kamala Harris wanted to paint Trump in a certain manner and it did not work this time. Trump did not engage and play along. He ran a disciplined and issue driven campaign this time around.
The biggest issue I had with the Harris and Waltz campaign was that they did not offer anything authentic. They were an emergency replacement ticket and they did not offer any new real ideas. They just repackaged old themes and tried to play the abortion card like many Democrats have done successfully in the past. It did not work.
Political candidates need to run on platforms that address the issues voters find important. Projecting fabricated attributes onto your opponents and insulting their supporters may help you alleviate your emotions, but it does not do anything for voters.
Americans wanted change and the status quo was not acceptable. Something I remember saying back in 2016. Trump won the Electoral College vote and popular vote. His message connected to more voters on the issues they felt were important. Not the issues that were forced upon them.
People do not have to abandon their principles and ideals just because of an election results. But it is important that we can respect the results of a fair and free election. The people have spoken even louder than in 2016. Trump won clearly and Americans made it clear. Americans wants Trump to Make America Great Again!
Let us unite and set aside the strong emotions and division. Always remember we are Americans first and foremost. We can take the best of our ideas and work to make our society better, safer, kinder, and united for all people of all backgrounds.
Thank you America!
The comeback was way more shocking to some degree than the original historic upset victory in 2016, where there was a manufactured sense of inevitability that Hillary Clinton might win.
The shocking part of this victory is not in the sense that Donald Trump won, but the intensity and scope of his victory. There is no doubt that the Trump Coalition, aka the MAGA coalition is now the largest base in American politics.
Many anti-Trumpers and progressive delusionists have no choice but to accept the fact and results of the strong and clear message the American voters sent our government.
