Joe Biden decided to issue a full and extensive pardon for his son Hunter Biden covering the past 11 years for any crimes committed, even the recent ones part of his guilty plea.
Maybe Joe Biden forgot that he promised the American public he would not pardon his son. After lecturing society that no one is above the law, he shows that he exempts his family from the principle. Not surprising that he lied.
There is no doubt that this tarnishes his legacy. Also, the act will give credibility to the accusations against his son and himself, based largely on the scope of the pardon. If the accusations are not true, why would the pardon need to extend conveniently that far back. Is he essentially pardoning himself?
I do not accept the love of child by a father excuse because it rings hollow. A real father that really loves his child does not shield them from accountability of their own actions and choices. How much love did he show for his grandchild denied by his son?
This is pretty damning for Democrats as well. Their image and brand has taken a big hit lately. The narratives they condescendingly project on society and force people to accept are now falling apart.
There is no one who is truly surprised that Biden pardoned his son. More surprising maybe that the right name was used on the document or that he remembered to do it before he is shown the door.
Biden's political legacy is a disaster. He was cast aside and discarded as a liability. For many, he bears a significant level of blame for the party's failure. His policies and irrational belief that anyone wanted four more years of failure.
At the end of the day, Biden might not intended to protect his son as much as he needed to maintain cover for his own shattered image. That would fall even lower if found that he did indeed sell influence as some accuse him of.
Hunter Biden was not being unfairly treated by the Department of Justice. Are we to forget the original plea deal that his privilege of being the son of the president potentially earned him. That could not reasonably be acceptable by any rational judge. The DOJ tried to sweep it under the rug and could not.
