The reigning and defending Super Bowl Champions my Philadelphia Eagles will open their season against NFC East rival The Dallas Cowboys in Philly at Lincoln Financial Field. An early matchup of perennial contenders.
This will actually one of the rare games that Jalen Hurts and Dak Prescott will actually face off against each other. Either because of injury or at the end of the season when the game did not really mean much to one or the other. Jalen will kick of the defense of our title and Dak will enter what is an interesting year for him. He has the long term deal, but that pressure will continue to build in Dallas, if there is no deep run.
The Dallas Cowboys recently upgraded their roster with a trade for George Pickens to compliment CeeDee Lamb. That should bolster their ability to compete these season. The division will be more competitive with Washington building on their run to the championship game and the New York Giants doing well in the draft.
My Eagles bolstered their depth and invested in good young talent to replace veterans who received massive contracts elsewhere. Our offense will return all our skill positions for one more year. Once Nakobe comes back healthy, our defense should hopefully pick up where they left off. I like our chances.
The NFL opener will also be the debut for the new coach of the Dallas Cowboys in Brian Schottenheimer. An underwhelming hire it seems for many of the Cowboys fans. But, coaching DNA might be important like they say with players. It worked to some degree in San Francisco. But not these are not the same!
