ANOTHER BIG WIN

The Philadelphia Eagles are answering every question that the schedule has put in front of them. How well will they do against two Super Bowl contending teams? Turns out, pretty good. How well would they do starting the season against teams they defeated on their path to a title? Really good. 

The Super Bowl will be won based on points scored and points preferred not style points. This is not gymnastics or figure skating. So, as long as they continue to end the games with at least one more point than their opponents, we should not be completedly worried. 

Ideally, the Eagles would win every game 35-6 and we would enjoy the games without some level of cardiac episodes. But, the goal is to win the game. They play to win the games and so far they are. 

The challenge every sports team will have to face during their pursuit of greatness is distractions, real or fabricated. Just like any organization, there will be people who feel they are not benefitting at the same level as the organization as a whole. Sometimes you have to sacrifice your ambitions for the greater good. Hopefully, the organization pays it off later on. 

There are some distractions that will arise  externally. The media needs content to maintain advertising dollars. And that anonymous source is always helpful to providing clickbait without irrefutable evidence. Players and coaches will need to understand that the media is also entertainment and will try to fill its 24/7 coverage any way possible.  

The Eagles have done a great job of managing their tough schedule, the national and local media, and everything in between. Hopefully, there is another trip down Broad Street on a cold day in February!
