Welcome!
I believe all Americans should be patriotic regardless of your politics. And all Americans should be able to proudly support our national teams and cheer for success. That should be natural and common sense. As we see many guests visiting our communities due to the World Cup, they seem to be amazed and appreciative our economic offerings and society. That should put a perspective for those harboring negative feelings because a political result did not go as you preferred.
Based on the results prior to the World Cup, I was pleasantly surprised to see our national soccer team perform as well as it did in the group stage. I was a bit worried going into the tournament, but we look much better than in the past tournament appearances. Hopefully, we get at least another win and then set the foundation to build on from there. Go Team USA!!
THE LABOR PROPOSAL:
Anytime you are dealing with issues that involve the compensation of people, there will be strong emotions attached. Especially in unionized environments with a herd mentality. There is a need to ensure the future sustainability of the organization, as when the business stops operating the checks for all parties end.
The challenge or at least the talking point will always center with the perceptions of the intentions of one side or the other, but the focus needs to be also on what is best for the sport and can players be well compensated in an environment where more teams, regardless of economic market, can compete and draw fans.
NEGATIVE EXTERNALITIES:
There are always unexpected consequences when a new process is implemented. Even the best planners and forecasters will still not always predict every possible outcome. Typically known to those in business as the unknown unknowns. The known knowns and the known unknowns, which are things you know could happen but not guaranteed, are usually considered.
There needs to be a level of patience with growth and innovation, at the same time proactive effort to mitigate external impacts or at least compensation for impacted parties. In the expansion of artificial intelligence, there are costs being incurred by parties that did not expect it and not the best suited to cover them
FOREIGN POLICY CHALLENGES:
I am not sure a deal to further negotiate a deal is actually an agreement. But it is a good step forward if it contains terms that both sides are comfortable with to end hostilities. While pundits will play the political narrative game, there are real tenets that could change the course for the better. And hopefully get a better result that our past failed deal, which gave too much money for too little guarantees.
