LIFE LESSONS FROM THE TUSH PUSH

Welcome to The  CRC  Team Channel. The people calling for the end of the brotherly shove are endemic of the attitude in our society that prevents people from  ever rising to meet the demands of any challenge. To not push ourselves to be better tomorrrow than we are today. Just because something is hard does not mean that you should avoid or not try to overcome it. There are certain things in life that are defining, separate people from the pack. For instance, people who thrive at negotiating salaries from those who will complain it is too hard and challenging. Why should a good negotiator be punished for better highlighting the impact of his or her experience and performance? Negotiating is a critical skill in any business or work environment, which can be demonstrated in the negotiation of salary.  We should strive to be the best not just a member of the rest. Find our competitive advantages. And not cower into the anonymity in the crowd. All th...

WEEK 2: TUSH PUSH CONTROVERSY

THE RETAIL EXPERIENCE

Welcome to The  CRC  Team Channel. There is nothing more welcoming that going to your local WalMart for basic necessities like toothpaste, toothbrushes, or deodorant. Only to find those items behind a pane of plexiglass that requires an employee with a key to assist you with.  Of course every employee in that area, if you are lucky enough to find one, does not work in that area of the store. Or he or she works there but does not remember where the key is or who was the last person they gave it too. Not a great customer experience.  Not unique to Walmart. I went to a Target in a pretty nice area of New York and band aids were behind the plexiglass barrier. Band aids! Even the store branded ones were behind it. Fortunately for me I was there on a day when they were experiencing high call outs.  I do not consider myself a difficult customer. I prefer to help myself at every moment possible. I certainly do not expect a retailer to embrace and cater to ...

NFL WEEK 1 2025

Welcome to The  CRC  Team Channel. Our Philadelphia Eagles won so we cannot complain too much. The first week of the season is not always telling of how good or bad a team may be over the course of a 18 week season. But it is always good to start the season on the right foot.  Football fans will undoubtedly overreact to what happened this week. They will want change in their teams when they really have not seen the full picture yet. Teams that win in September have a head start, but sometimes get caught and passed by hot teams in December.  The important aspect is whether you felt your team gave a worthy effort and whether the shortcomings are fixable in the season. Some changes cannot be made during the week of a season.  Enjoy our discussion.  There are some of us Eagles fans who are happy but concerned a bit by the close margin of our victory. Based on the media hype, we should have blown the Dallas Cowboys out. But the most important thing...

2025 NFL SEASON

Welcome to The  CRC  Team Channel. The 2025 NFL season has started with opening games behind us. On Tuesday, you will experience our discussion on all the NFL action. Obviously, we hope that this season goes the same as last, but every year is different.  Below, we discuss each conference and who we think will reach the Super Bowl. Also, this year, we pick a MVP candidate. Please enjoy this year's pick episode.  Every year is a different journey. But every year that does not end with a Super Bowl trophy and parade can have major consequences for the team as it is currently constructed.  Depending on where the team feels they are in their roster cycle, there are teams that will end the year with the need to make change. If leaders feel there is no higher ceiling for the group.  Every season is consequential and that is why football is king. The first 2 games have been great and so much more to go. We will discuss the games each week! So stay tuned....

LEADERSHIP CULTURE

Welcome to The  CRC  Team Channel. The success of an organization largely depends on the culture it maintains that ensures its vision is incorporated in every aspect of its operations.

STRICTLY BUSINESS

Welcome to The  CRC  Team Channel. The inability to separate personal self-interest or biases from their professional role can create problems for stakeholders. What are challenges that may occur?

RISK AVOIDANCE

Welcome to The  CRC  Team Channel. The major fear when the whole global tariff campaign began on liberation day in April was that the United States economy and the global economy may experience additional sticker shock on top of the elevated historic inflation that was the Biden economy. There were some legitimate fears around this not just because of economic reasons, but political ones as well.  While the United States is in a good position to prevail in most trade wars, there would be great uncertainty and unpredictable timing not ideal. Just because you can win a conflict does not always mean that it is worthy of participating in. And that really was the fear of some economists. Left leaning people simply wanted to oppose any Trump idea regardless of the long term benefits.  Now a few months later, the data points are showing that the fear is unwarranted. Despite Democrats trying to sell a rather hypocritical message about cost increases, the impact ...

MISPLACED ACTIONS

Welcome to The  CRC  Team Channel. There are times when people do what they think is right, but their actions actually do more harm than good. Does intent or result matter more? Have you ever been in a car with a person who completely stops to let what they think is a pedestrian crossing the road and hold traffic up? Only to see the person is neither crossing the road nor had the right of way. But the person wanted a public showing for the public to think of how kind they are by being mean and rude to a host of others. The disproportionate application of kindness is a complete contradiction to the fact that following the rule as prescribed would be more equitable than their action. The need to be perceived one way or another may blind people from actually exemplifying those values. That is what is wrong at times with society is the obsession over the optics rather than ensuring the substance is what we need it to be.

SPEED BUMP SOCIETY

Welcome to The  CRC  Team Channel. Our society goes to great lengths to make sure that people do not experience the consequences of their choices and behaviors. Is this the right approach and what can we do better?  On a podcast, there was a point brought up that the reduction of risk actually makes society less safe. A stark contrast to what one may think when you implement risk mitigation and avoidance. The complete removal of risk can make people less safe.  In many areas in the northeast, you will notice that people to a high degree no longer know the proper practices of safely crossing a road. Because of pedestrian safety laws and crosswalks, people have expanded the practice to believing that pedestrians can walk into traffic and safely make it to the other side.  Now, people should try to avoid hitting pedestrians from a moral standpoint, but the reckless behavior encouraged by the view that pedestrians always have the right of way. Not surp...
